Hospitals and Healing

My next blog was originally going to be about the upcoming independence day and how many Christians have yet to realise that they to have had an independence day however as I’m currently in hospital and have some time on my hands I thought I’d expand on a comment left on my face book page and my reply.

Firstly it was a very fair comment and it was -

Yeah ok, but with prayer ect, I would have thought that Brian would have got healed straight away with the amount of people praying for him as well.

- As one of the joys I have travelling round is teaching people more on healing that God has revealed to me I thought I’d expand further on my reply which was -

there are times that i've been prayed for and healed miraculously and times when i haven't why i don't know but remember sometimes it takes more than just saying in the name of Jesus be healed - sometimes we have to pray and fast, sometimes the sickness could be sin related, sometimes God wants to use you to refine your faith and other time it's simply healing is a process God just speeds it up which i why i'm feeling better than i should be

- In fact the bible does say that we should go out and heal the sick

Mark 16:17-19 (New King James Version)

17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

So we can all go out and heal in faith this of course differs from those who have the gift of healing in the same way we are all called to be evangelists but some have the gift of evangelism and so of course will see many more fruit

But let me pick on a few statements I made first - sometimes we have to pray and fast - Healing and deliverance (casting out spirits) tends to go hand in hand and if you are in a position where you are seeing many healed you will also see the possession and oppression by demonic spirits and on occasion it takes more than prayer as the disciples of Christ themselves found out

Matthew 17 :14 - 20 (NIV)

The next two and even the first really comes under the heading of spiritual discernment - sometimes the sickness could be sin related, sometimes God wants to use you to refine your faith - this where we should be relying on God to guide us in our prayers and actions and whether it is right for you to lay hands on a person at that moment or to go and fast and pray etc, this is always a challenge but take heart you will get it wrong at one point or another (maybe more ) but not to worry it’s how we grow and learn

Finally the simple fact is that healing is a process and there is only one healer and that is Jesus Christ in him we have all power and authority and in His name we can ask for all things to be possible but in the end whether it be the miraculous healing that we all WoW over or a simple healing which is quicker/less painful or anything else other than how it should be it is all in Gods hands and in accordance with His will

So do not be afraid to lay your hands on the sick but do so in accordance with the guidance of the Holy Spirit and always remember whether or not God will cause someone to be healed there is a great comfort for someone knowing that people who care for them are praying constantly for them

Illness and Challanges

in the last blog i mentioned how i was caught up after being away and very busy oh that was a mistake

On the 6th June i spoke at InTune - Meltdown ministries conference for bands and musicians and we had a great time with 20 people from bands and those just curious learning more about what God wants for them

Over that weekend my son was ill then for the next week my wife was ill then to top it off i became seriously ill and I'm writing this while still in my sick bed

Throughout those 2 weeks my patience, strength and ability to cope has been stretched and tested majorly in fact apart from Facebook on my phone I've been nowhere near the Internet, my throat so bad i can no longer talk means that I've been unable to make any of the numerous phone calls i usually make and yet I'm not behind on anything bar sending out the prayer letter which will be done tomorrow

Sometimes we are so busy with being busy we forget that God is the one in charge and when we do things according to his time timetable we suddenly realise how much time we have to spare so the first challenge for you is how busy are you really

Secondly i recently be in communication with someone who has really challenged me - they asked me the question what was i preaching and was it in line with scripture - this is far from the normal questions i get about why i do what i do

this has been really healthy for me as it's challenged me to go back and look at what God first asked of me and where i and the ministry is now and going through all I've done over the past 2 years and seeing if we did it right by God or ourselves

now on the whole we got it right but it was good to check ourselves and isn't good at times for us all to check ourselves and whether what we are doing is in line with what God wants for us so that's the second challenge for you

so now I'm starting back online with the website updated and the prayer letter out tomorrow (21st June) also notes from InTune will be available soon so if you want a copy let me know

Back on track

hello to you all and after over a month of extreme busyness we're back on top of things and starting to move forward once again

I've been back and catching up after being away at Elements of Rock in Switzerland joining the Sanctuary worship band and doing a load of prayer work there which was a blessed time though hot

Now we are looking forward to the InTune conference on the 6th June and Cloverstone at the end of July both events are going to be a wonderful time

Also the prayer letter is back after being missing for a month and that will be sent out in the next 10 - 14 days so if your part of the network send your requests in and if your not and want to join or pray for those on there get in touch and i'll be more than happy to send you a copy

We at Steel Cross have held 2 events in the past month both went well so thanks for your prayers

on the 15th March we raised £50 for Comic Relief and on the 29th we held an anointing service for 3 bands which went really well and we can hope to see great things from

The joys of modern technology

It was a great pleasure last week to spend time praying with the team from Green Light District Festival (GLDF) the difference to a normal prayer meeting was that i was still in England and they were in Denmark but thanks to the internet/webcams and Skype we we're able to come together and lift the festival before God 

While at times annoying the internet and modern technology is bringing Gods people closer and enabling us to receive more teaching from other places 

There are down side to the net as we all know but  when used for Gods purposes it truly is a joy and i look forward to doing more online prayer meetings when i can't travel

Back at GLDF these guys in Denmark are really seeing Gods blessing pour out on what they are doing so I encourage you to keep them in your prayers as what has begun grows and develops according to Gods will
