Band Prayer Network

Well tonight 100 emails have gone out to bands and musicians around the world

Yes the much mentioned little detailed Band Prayer Network has been launched tonight

The following went out and i encourage all readers to pass it onto friends who are in bands or are just musicians

Steel Cross started out with two aims - working with bands and praying with bands. This has always been close to our heart and since starting the prayer network so has unity in the body of Christ.

We at Steel Cross have now decided to set up a new prayer network this time solely for bands, no matter what style of music you play, in Christ we are all one and through prayer we can help maintain that unity. Also with Christian bands and artists praying in unity we pray that God will raise the profile and move through the music that you do.

In order to help kick-start this and to make it easier for bands to take part we are using the wonderful tool called myspace. We have set up a myspace account so bands can post their prayer requests on the comments section and also put their answers to prayer on there aswell.

What sort of requests can you put you may ask - well anything from an upcoming gig to the search for a new band member and anything else can be put on. The only thing we’d ask is that you not use it to place your gig posters on.

Because this is a prayer network for bands the profile is kept private so that there is some privacy about the prayers shared. However if a band or band member has a personal/sensitive/private prayer request we have also set up an email address so these can be sent too and this will be sent to a team of people whose heart is to pray for bands needing prayer or if requested for just the Steel Cross team to pray over.

In order to join the prayer network just follow the link below, click add and then you can start adding your prayer requests. Also below is the email address for the prayer network.

In order for this to be effective i encourage you to forward this onto other Christian bands/artists

Yours in Christ

Bark @ the Moon

We started our weekly DJ night at Bar South tonight called Bark at the Moon with loads of classic rock and the lovely Matt and myself doing the DJing

We've done a couple of tester nights over the previous months with mixed results but as we are full of faith and know that it's unique in the area so we keep at it

We've a load of flyering coming up with new posters as well so the word will be spreading quickly

So if you fancy a night of classic rock both secular and christian come along and join in the fun

SC Prayer Trip Part 2 London

So after a long journey we returned last night from London after spending a great weekend with some wonderful people

When we arrived in London we met with Vickie and Rob who are leaders at the Bridge (more info on this in the next prayer letter) and they run a fantastic ministry, both Americans they've been working in London and surrounding areas for several years now and Vickie was one of the reasons that the prayer network came about and after speaking with her was also the spark i needed to move on something which has been on my heart for a while but I'll keep you updated on that

After that we hooked up with Micheal and Paula (i hope that's right) from GU a church based in the Camden/Kentish area who have been quite quiet lately so it was a great opportunity to touch base and see what they're up to and share opinions and advice

on the Sat evening we went to a local venue to see a few bands play and saw some real talent and some i wasn't as keen on

Sunday saw us fellowshipping in the day then going along to the GU service on the afternoon meeting some great people and seeing God speak into their lives

So that's it 2 weeks (well technically 11 days) 10 ministries a lot of prayer and seeing God move in unsuspecting ways in the lives of the people we've visited and in the teams lives as well

So what next well first it's getting back into the swing of work and then several SC meetings to agree on where we're heading as a ministry and what input to put in with ministries we've met. The pictures from the trip should be uploaded soon onto the website and then it's back to bringing Gods kingdom on this earth

SC Prayer Trip Part 2 Wales

Well I've returned from Wales and a village in the Rhonda Valley called Tonyrefail and have been blown away by what God is wanting to do there through the Broken Chains Festival and all that has come out of it and I look forward to sharing more on it when I can

Currently very tired as it 1:30am and at 8am we're off to London to visit 2 more ministries before we end the SC UK prayer trip and it's truly been a great time

Thanks once again for your prayers only 2 more days to go

Now I've recovered from the return journey i can let you know more about what happened during the last days in Scotland

I left you while i was having an easy day on the evening we met an interesting chap called Waddell who is a youth leader at a local church with a bit of a difference the church has about 19 regular attenders but the youth group can get up 150 kids on a really good night but an average of about 70 kids and they run on 3 different nights we look forward to seeing them on the SC prayer letter soon

On Thursday we we're in Edinburgh on the afternoon meeting with a networker (close as i can come to descibing him) called Paul and had an interesting conversation with him. On the evening we attended one of Rock & Roll Zombies gigs a fundraiser for Secta Rouge and we saw along with Secta some interesting bands and we hope to work with one or two of them in the future

Friday morning saw us on a bus on the way to Glasgow to met up with Stuart from Void Avoidance we spent time chatting and visiting different venues that VA use for their events

After a most relaxing train journey we meet up with Dave Williams from Meltdown for a meal and a chat and that was us done until the 16th when we join up with Micheal from GU and Vickie Simmons down in London

Prayer Trip Sanctuary Day4 / Scotland Day 1

Well our final day ended on a hi with a peaceful morning wandering around Lisburn joining up with Stevie and Karen for lunch with a bit more discussions on things

On the afternoon we spent more time with Alan and Mark working some more on the website and playing around with photos followed by a lovely supper we had a prayer time with Stevie and Karen with God moving powerfully

At the airport our flight was delayed but we still made it to Birmingham without a problem and spent the night talking and moving the ministry forward again with some exciting changes and new directions coming up

We arrived in Edinburgh at 1pm on Tues and spent some time on the Royal Mile before meeting up with our man Dougle from Rock & Roll Zombies which resulted in a good 4 hour discussion with Martin coming along as well

On the night we met up with Jed from RRZ and a couple of the Rodent Emporium guys which resulted inn a night of fellowship and laughter

Keep praying for God to continue to move through what we are doing and may He bless you for all you've prayed so far
